Hi again,

My name is Anurag Sharma. I am presently an independent designer working on physical and digital products. So far, my design work has included architecture, industrial design, UX, and furniture design projects.

Aside from design, I am really passionate about art, philosophy and woodworking.

When I'm not immersed in my imagination, you may find me working on an illustration or a furniture project for my home studio.

Why I decided to shift into UX design?

I started my creative journey in the field of architecture. I learnt that architecture not only can engage human senses to create lasting memories & experiences through its volumes, lighting & surfaces but also has the power to shape societies.

However, as a young architect, I got dissatisfied with the architectural profession since it did not offer me the sense of fulfilment that architecture education provided. As a result, I chose to pursue a career in design. It was around this period that I got introduced to the concept of UX and design thinking. I discovered that the influence of UX design on individuals and society is as significant as that of architecture & it is essentially the same thing that I valued most in my architectural design process: Enriching people's experiences with volumes and materials.

Unlike architecture, I found the UX design to be faster, iterative, adaptable and with better opportunities. Furthermore, most of my skills and attributes as an architect were equally transferable to the field of UX.

I am still exploring and learning new things about UX every day & I believe my multidisciplinary experience and skills may contribute to a more rigorous and creative approach to UX design.
